French Creek Energy is having an open house at the Union City Fire Department Social Hall on August 27, 2025 from 6 pm – 8 pm. They are encouraging residents to come and ask questions, raise concerns. They will have project displays and a project team available.
The company is looking to do a utility size project in Union, Amity and LeBoeuf Townships encompassing 1,000 acres with approximately 750 developed acres for a 150 MW production. They are looking at 1 ½ -2 years permitting process with construction to begin in 2027. The majority of the project is located in Union Township. The part in Amity Township is the southwest corner along Middleton, Kimball Hill, Union Amity Road area. The project will be a Special Exception for Amity and require a Zoning Hearing Board meeting/approval.
