Have you ever wondered how decisions are made to construct improvements at one location rather than another? It all starts with the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). Erie Metropolitan Planning Organization is tasked with updating the LRTP for Erie County every five years to consider and prepare for the future transportation needs of our region.
In April 2025, Erie MPO launched its LRTP Update 2052 planning effort, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The first step in the planning process is to gather input from the public about their transportation issues and concerns in the county.
Please share your input today!
- Answer our public survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/erielrtp2052. This quick 5-question survey requests input on residents’ access to services, and thoughts on transportation priorities and goals.
- Add your ideas to our Wikimap at https://new.wikimapping.com/erielrtp2052. The Wikimap looks like Google Maps, but lets you add points to identify where improvements are needed. Do you have concerns about safety at a particular intersection or thoughts on improving the bicycle trail network? Drop a point to show us where. You can even upload photos if you like, and collaborate with others by “liking” their points. The Wikimap also asks about your experiences in the past year with hazards (such as droughts, floods, etc.), which will help inform Erie County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan update.
- Don’t forget to share the survey and wikimap with your friends and neighbors! We want everyone’s voices to be heard.
- Stay tuned for details about the first public meeting, expected in fall 2025. Information will be posted on this page, and you can send a message to pcdinfo@eriecountypa.gov to add your email address for future updates.
